A creative senior and child Workshop by photographers Skye Hardwick & Michelle Huesgen — two (goofy) friends who share a love of the imaginative and romantic as well as a passion for teaching others about the beautiful world they see through their lenses.
We have many surprises planned for the Workshop, however, below is a basic outline of what to expect at a Soul Sistas Workshop.
Day One / Friday
We begin at 7pm by diving into a hands-on ‘Marketing Swap’ cocktail reception. What a fun way to see what photo products Skye and Michelle (and everyone else) are using; all while enjoying delicious h’orderves and drinks.
Afterwards we have a fun photo contest surprise for our most adventurous attendees. Mums the word.
Day Two / Saturday
Rise and shine; we begin at 9am for a bit of socializing over hot coffee and fresh pastries and will offically begin at 9:30am.

At 5pm we all head out to a rustic location to watch a session with both Skye and Michelle (attendees will not be shooting). Before the models arrive, however, they will do an in depth teaching on the following topics (perfect for you visual learners):
- Using props in a creative way
- Natural light 101
- Racoon eyes no more
- Backlighting & flare
- Using background to frame subjects
- Child posing (and not posing)
- Noticing the small details
- On location safety
- Finding shooting locations
- Skye teaches on the famous “Skye Scrunch” & “Wild Woman”
The models will also be fully styled by Skye and Michelle so attendees can see the styling process in action and how the clothing lends itself to the shooting environment.
The Workshop will end for the evening between 7 – 8pm. Get your rest as we have an amazing day of shooting planned on Sunday.
Day Three / Sunday
Rise and shine; we begin the Workshop at 9:30am and will enjoy our hot coffee and fresh pastries as Skye and Michelle each teach their editing processes in Photoshop featuring the images taken the previous night. Learn exactly how Skye and Michelle get their poppin’ colors and moody black and whites.
11am – 4pm we’re ‘taking it to the streets’ as the attendees get their turn to photograph both child and senior models at some of Michelle’s favorite grungy urban locations.
The Workshop attendees will be broken up into smaller groups. This is so everyone will receive more personal attention with both Skye and Michelle and provide a far less chaotic shooting environment.
5 – 6pm we gather once more for the coveted door prize give away, final questions, and farwell.
